The part the safety budget does not cover
For a consumer facing brand, an impaired employee is a brand problem before it is a safety problem. That moves the decision out of EHS and puts it in front of risk, legal, and the people who own the name on the ship.
Company says the employee was screened at hire and had no prior incidents. Plaintiffs' counsel is asking what the company measured on the night in question. The answer is nothing.
